Why assessment comes first
Too often, a first personal training session begins with a workout before anyone has really watched the person doing it. You sweat. You are pushed. You leave knowing you worked hard.
But as a set continues and fatigue builds, your body finds whatever strategy it can to finish the repetition. Your knees may move inward. One side may take over. Your back may arch or your shoulders may compensate.
When discomfort appears, the weight is lowered or the exercise is removed. That may be the right decision in the moment. But too often, no one asks what the movement was showing. The exercise changes, while the pattern follows you into the next workout.
“I love the quieter changes: hearing that movement feels easier, and watching a body that has felt compressed finally release and find an anchor in a new way of living, a new way of moving.”
Mel Cobian, NASM Master TrainerThere was a season when I shelved this part of my work. But the truth is that I enjoy it more than almost anything else I do. I love seeing someone understand their body differently. I love watching movement become more controlled and confident. I love having measurable evidence that strength is increasing through another repetition, greater stability, more range, or more load handled well.
Before I create a personal exercise plan or begin virtual training with you, I need to understand how your body currently organizes movement. The Starting Point gives us that foundation, with a human review, a private explanation of what I observed, and a personalized corrective exercise routine built around the patterns that deserve attention first.
We made it a standalone service because the information should remain useful even if you never continue training with Ardenti. Take your movement blueprint to another trainer, use it to make more informed choices on your own, or let it become the foundation for the strength we build together.
